Our Work

We work together to provide social, welfare and recreation activities for the local community (check out our Activities page for further information about our courses and events).

We also have two halls (both with stages), a kitchen and a meeting room to hire for meetings and special functions such as Birthday Parties and Wedding Receptions. Please check out our Facilities page for photos and further information.

About Us

Pegswood Social Welfare Centre is a registered charity (number 522124) and is situated in the village of Pegswood, near Morpeth in the County of Northumberland.

The Centre was originally opened in 1926 as the local cinema and has operated independently since the closure of the coal mine in 1969.

The Centre is run by a body of nominated Trustees who are supported by a part time administrator and a dedicated group of volunteers.
